Hi! My name is Alyssa and I’m so happy you are here visiting my blog. I am a NASM certified personal trainer, and I’m convinced that everyone is capable of balancing life and fitness. I believe in living a positive life, and with a little motivation and determination you can accomplish anything. The articles here focus on real life fitness topics, advice, nutrition tips, recipes, and exercise ideas. For more exercise ideas connect with me at @momonthemove1 on Instagram, and on Facebook too.

How it started for me:
4 years ago, I was in a low place, wanted to be able to stay home with my boys and just got very depressed when that wasn’t a possibility. I started to gain weight, and I remember my turning point was seeing a picture of myself and really not recognizing the person I saw. I thought…this isn’t who I am or who I want to be. So I took gradual steps to change it, and eventually lost about 50lbs through diet and exercise. And then gained the confidence to give weight lifting a try. I was never into anything athletic before, so this was a big stretch for me. I was out of my comfort zone. But you know what they say…”the best things in life are out of your comfort zone.”

How Mom on the Move was born:
Once I started weight lifting I really just fell in love with the sport have this deep passion for helping other women get started on the weight floor, and learning how to balance fitness and life as a busy mom. It’s hard sometimes to start that process. It can be scary, overwhelming and intimidating. I remember that feeling so well. So I decided to start a blog to get my ideas and thoughts down to share with other women feeling the same way, and going through their own journey’s in weight loss and fitness.
